Day Two with Guest Designer Robin Parker

 Good morning.  Today Robin Parker has a beautiful scrapbook page to share.

Here's Robin: 

This is such a fun project, I really enjoyed myself and the beautiful young lady in the photos are my daughter at her Prom this year!

 

I created my own scrapbook paper using “Floral Thank You” by JustRite Papercraft.  I stamped the flower all over my white card stock with Marvy Pink ink for the top half of my page.  On the bottom half I used “Ticking Stripe Background” in the same color ink.  Next, I stamped one of the border edges from “Celebration Labels One & Bracket One” on white card stock with Versamark ink and then used burgundy embossing powder.  I did this eight times to create my decorative edges.  To create the frames for my photos, I stamped “Grateful Hearts Vintage Labels Two” onto white card stock with Versamark and used burgundy embossing powder.  I did this three times.  I cut the frames out and adhered my photos to two of the frames.  On the center frame I used a different frame from the same stamp set, my sentiment is from “Winged Vintage Labels Two & Three”.  I embossed and cut out the smaller frame and used pop dots to lift the centerpiece.  My final touches are three white seam binding ribbon and bows by The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Sharon Harnist created this 6-inch scrap page of her daughters ... we all know that sisters can be the best of friends!

 

"Best Friends Forever" was stamped with Memento Grape Jelly ink (to match the lavender color in the boa) onto cream cardstock, die cut with Spellbinders Double-Ended Tags die and the edges inked with Memento Desert Sand ink.  Sharon also inked the white doily with Desert Sand ink, so it would match the background papers and tag.  White lace trim and satin ribbon were airbrushed with Copic BV13 marker, to match the other purples on the page.

 

A pearl finishes off the tag accent.

"I made this card by first using both the largest and smallest Spellbinders Nested Hearts die templates to cut/emboss the heart die cuts. Using a Copic Toner Gray No. 1 marker with the Copic Airbrush system, I airbrushed the two die cuts and inked the edges with Memento Desert Sand ink."

 

"I inked up a sentiment from Friendship Nested Sentiments and Verse stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then positioned and stamped the sentiment on the larger airbrushed Nested Heart."

Day 3 with Guest Designer, Linda Coughlin

Our last day with guest designer, Linda Coughlin, brings us the last of her interview:

6. Who is currently your favorite paper company?

7. Tell us what you are currently addicted to.

"I’m going to combine these two questions because designer paper IS my addiction!  I can’t even choose a favorite, but vintage/retro styles are my favorites (K&Co., Cosmo Cricket).  Lately I have been using a lot of digital papers that I print myself.  I’m hooked on the instant gratification of shopping for what I need for a work in progress and being able to download and use it immediately."

9. What is your favorite paper crafting season and why?

"Autumn/Harvest Season – I love the celebration of God’s bounty that takes place at that time of year with its rich palette of colors."

Notes from Linda:

"I wanted to come up with something really special for my last day as a guest designer and decided to make a mini photo album/card.  A pocket heart was used for the front and a different memory sentiment (from Cherish the Memories and Victorian Nested Frames) was stamped on the back side of each of 6 tags": 

"The tag backs were a little too white so I stamped a pattern using a stamp from the Kaleidoscope set.  The sentiment was then stamped over the background stamping.  The heart die cut on the inside was stamped with a stamp from the Stitched With Love set in Versamark and clear embossed":   

 

"Another stamp from the same set was layered over the heart.  On the opposite page, I again stamped a Stitched With Love stamp on the background sheet and clear embossed it.  A panel with another stamp from the same set was stamped and clear embossed to create a pocket for more photos." 

 

"I used a Spellbinders label die to cut two tag style pieces that are tucked into pockets in the front and back of the card.  More photos have been affixed to these tags.  The card holds a total of four photos.  I think this card would make a cherished keepsake to give to a special person."

JustRite Friday Challenge 028, Sponsored by Copic: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

This week's Friday Challenge #028 A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words, sponsored by Copic, is to use a photo on your card combined with JustRite stamps, to make a one-of-a-kind greeting card!  Alternatively, you may also make a scrapbook page since the logistics are virtually the same!  You might want to use this challenge as an additional opportunity to work out a family photo Christmas card design, too!

Since we just returned from a fabulous beach vacation I have plenty of wonderful photos I want to use, so here's my sample using JustRite's large oval By The Sea set:

 

I thought this would make a nice little love note to my girls!  I started by printing my photo at 3.50" x 5", trimmed it with a Victorian/deckled blade, then mounted it to a standard A2 sized (4.25" x 5.50") card base of kraft cardstock.

The oval photo frame, which says "If you want to know how much I love you, count the waves" was stamped with Cocoa ink onto Natural White cardstock and die cut with Spellbinders Classic Oval Nestabilities dies.  While the cardstock was still in the die, I airbrushed the frame with Copic B01 marker, to match the gorgeous Caribbean water: 

 

The shells on the frame were colored with Copic E01 marker.  The frame was popped up on foam tape over the photo and tied with some ribbon & twine.

The seashell embellishment at the bottom of the photo was made by punching kraft cardstock with Martha Stewart's shell border punch.  The scallop shells were enhanced with Copic E02 marker:

 

And there you have a very quick and easy photo greeting card!

JustRite Friday Challenge 021 Winners!

Wow ... many thanks to everyone who played along in our Let's Hear It For The Boys challenge ... what a great bunch of masculine projects you all produced!  We had such a difficult time deciding on winners because there were several different stand-out projects, each in a distinct category of their own.  So we decided to break up our winners into THREE categories!

We loved how Jeanne combined a sentiment from our Just A Note set on the front of her card.  So many times, we might forget to do that or may just not have the appropriate specific greeting.  JustRite now has a fantastic selection of sentiments for the outside, as well as the inside of your cards ... and we're still adding!
