Tutorial Tuesday Stamping Basics -Clear Embossing Powders and Pigment Inks with Darsie Bruno

For today's Tutorial Tuesday were going back to stamping basics and showcasing how to use clear embossing powder with pigment inks. For today's projects Darsie shares how to create a multi-colored embossed Peacock Feather Card, an Elegant Wedding Card and a Vintage Easter Tag using a combination of Versamark Watermark Pad, pigment inks.

Darsie's first card is an elegant wedding card created by stamping Versamark Watermark pad on white paper and then clear embossing the Diamond Filigree Cling Background Stamp. Next Darsie stamped with using brilliance ink and added clear embossing powder to the Mr & Mrs Sentiment from Graceful Sentiments Clear Stamps.  Since pigment inks traditionally take longer to dry you can use any of your pigment inks with this technique.

For Darsie's second card she shares how to use brilliance pigment inks with clear embossing powder to create a mulit-colored embossed image using our Whisper of Wings Clear Stamps with a sentiment from our Wishing You Rainbows Clear Stamps.

JustRite CHA January Release Floral Basket and Reversed Crackle Background Stamp

Eva Dobilas has the sweetest friendship card designed using the label die from Samantha's Cupcake Celebrations Dies (cut in half and layered in back of her belly band), Samantha's  Nested Cloud and Tags Dies with flourished accents created with Becca's Heirloom Flourish One Die.



Kazan Clark designed this super cute Easter Bag using the adorable bunnies, and flowers from Samantha Walker's  Welcome Spring Clear Stamps  and her  Nested Cloud and Tags Dies. Don't you just love her 3-D grass.  

Kristi Schurr had so much funny playing with Samnatha's  Welcome Spring Clear Stamps  and  Nested Cloud and Tags Dies that she designed two cards for today's release. Just love how she used the corner stamps and coordinating dies.

 Michele Kovack  designed a sweet egg shaped card using the bunny images from Welcome Spring Clear Stamps.

Day Three with Guest Designer Lea Lawson

Huge Thank You to Lea Lawson for joining us this week as our guest designer.  Today Lea has an exquisite Easter Card using our Easter Blessings Clear set paired with a sweet vintage image of children enjoying Easter festivities!!

Rejoice! Card

As I was flipping through my papers and vintage images looking for some inspiration for an Easter card, I kept coming back to this image of these children holding hands and playing.  Then I found the sheet of paper that had these children with baskets searching for what I believe has to be Easter eggs, and I just knew I had to use them together!  While they might not be the most traditional pairing of Easter products…they were perfect for the JustRite sentiment that I wanted to use.  These little children definitely look like they are happy and rejoicing

Darsie Bruno Easter Blessings - Rejoice!

Today Darsie Bruno  has a wonderful Easter Card to share here on the JustRite Blog featuring one word from our Easter Blessings. You can see more detailed photos of her card on her blog post here.

Rejoice!

 JustRite’s Easter Blessings has inspired me in so many ways with the variety of stamps included.

I chose to use the sentiment “Rejoice” from the set for this card and to frame it with Spellbinders Classic Petals Edgeabilities. I stamped the sentiment three times on white cardstock, shaded the edges with a pretty soft teal ink, and adhered it to a teal panel. Next, I cut 4 edges with the Classic Petals die, 2 in teal cardstock, and two in Tim Holtz’s Idealogy paper stack. I then used the decorative insert from the Edgeabilities on those edge pieces. I adhered the patterned paper pieces on top of the teal pieces, then added pop-dots to the back. I added a satin bow and a cross charm to the lower piece before adding it underneath my sentiment. I adhered the smaller edge piece over the top of my sentiment, then adhered the entire panel to a white card.

Introducing Easter Blessings with guest designer Darsie Bruno and the JustRite Design Team

A Special Thank you to this week's guest designer Darsie Bruno!!  We have been so inspired by all your projects Darsie!  Today Darsie has a wonderful JustRite Easter Basket filled with JustRite Easter Eggs! 

Today's projects from Darsie and the JustRite Design Team using Easter Blessings are SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!!  Be prepared to be BLOWN AWAY!!

Here's Darsie: 

 

 Instructions:
Basket:  Stamp a Lace Border on cardstock with Versamark and emboss with white powder. Make 16 and cut as strips. (See photo for reference) Put eight strips aside and glue 4 strips to the remaining 4 strips end to end. Next, cut the eight strips you set aside in half.

To weave: Lay all 4 long lace pieces parallel to each other and taking the short pieces, start weaving in and out. You will have an overhang, but do not cut these off. They will be your tabs to attach the bottom of the basket.

Once you’ve finished weaving, glue the ends together to make the basket form. Fold the tabs. Cut the largest Classic Circle die and attach basket form to circle with tabs. Cut circle to fit. Cut a smaller circle to fit inside the basket to cover tabs.

Handle: With the Classic Scallop Edgabilities, cut out a strip with scallops on both sides. Add decorative cuts with the Decorative Insert from Triple Classic Scallops Edgabilities. Attach to basket. Decorate handle with pearls and ribbon, then wrap tulle around handle and adhere to inside of basket at edge.

Basket edging:  Stamp four strips of a different lace border with Versamark and emboss with white powder. Adhere two strips to top outside edge of basket. Adhere the other two strips on inside of basket, hiding basket handle edges. Decorate with pearls, a tulle or ribbon bow and Prima roses.

To fill my basket I created 5 JustRite Easter Eggs using Easter Blessings.

Here are close up's of my five eggs.

Eggs: Cut 5 pieces of cardstock/decorative paper  4 x 6 inches and fold to 4 x 3 inches. Lay Egg die just to the left of the fold line and cut. This will make an egg card. Emboss with embossing folder, stamp images and sentiments from Easter Blessing stamp set on scraps of white cardstock, and decorate. Fill inside of Egg card with bagged candy or bite-size chocolate bar and tie with a ribbon.

Introducing Classic Scallop Borders One and Spring Words with guest Designer Darsie Bruno and the JustRite Design Team

Today we are kicking off our CHA Release #2 reveals!! We will be featuring sets from our CHA Release each of the next 5 Days -- including reveals on both Saturday and Sunday!!  At CHA we introduced 21 new stamp sets and 2 custom dies.  In January, we featured the first 8 Sets with sneak peaks of background stamps and borders. 

Today our guest designer Darsie Bruno is kicking off the project reveals for Classic Scallop Borders One and the design team will be showing off Spring Words and Classic Scallop Borders.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: JustRite Classic Scallop Borders One Clear Stamps
Dies:JustRite Custom Dies Oval Nested Labels Medallions Die; Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square
Paper:Double-side Patterned Paper (I used My Mind’s Eye Bohemia)
Ink & Markers: Ranger White Embossing Powder, TsukenikoVersamark Watermark Pad; White Gel Pen
Accessories:White Tulle;Recollection Pearls; Decorative Bird

Here is Darsie's pattern for her birdhouse:

Instructions:

Cut birdhouse out with pattern on  12" x 12 "Double Sided paper. Fold on dotted lines and cut on solid lines. Cut a separate strip of paper, 3 x 1 inches out of the double sided paper and fold in half lengthwise. This is your tab to connect the birdhouse panels.

Cut center out of the birdhouse using the smallest Oval Nested Labels Medallion die. Cut #2 Oval Nested Labels Medallion out of double sided paper. Center the smallest Medallion die on that piece, and cut out the center (this makes the frame for the birdhouse hole). I left the smallest die on, then sponged ink on the inside and outlined it with a white gel pen. Attach to birdhouse using pop dots.

Put birdhouse together using the tab. Cut Fleur de Lis Square out of double side paper and attach to a slightly larger panel. Glue bottom tabs of birdhouse to Fleur de lis square panel.

 

 Roof and Shingles: Stamp a border on doubled side paper with Versamark and emboss with white embossing powder. Make 10 and cut out scalloped edges. Arrange 5 on top of each other to resemble shingles and glue. Make 2 of these 5 stripe panels (this is your roof).

Cut a 5 1/4" x 4" panel from double sided paper, score and  fold at  ¼ inches and 2 ¾  inches. Glue ¼ tab to side of birdhouse for roof. Attach Shingle panels on both sides of roof. (One part of the roof is able to lift to add candy or a gift inside)

Eaves: Stamp a different border on double sided paper with Versamark and emboss with white powder. Make 1, cut scalloped edges, cut apart (as shown) and glue to eaves of birdhouse in the front.

Lower Birdhouse Border: Stamp a third border on double sided paper with Versamark and emboss with white powder. Make 3 and cut out scalloped edges. Adhere to the bottom of the birdhouse. Pierce a hole underneath the birdhouse hole for the perch. Make the perch by rolling 1 x 1 inch square of double sided paper tightly, gluing down edge, then inserting into pierced hole on birdhouse. Add pearls to decorate, tie a pretty tulle bow, and finish off with a sweet bird. 

 Classic Borders One is designed to coordinate with the Scalloped Edger cutting die from Spellbinders E8-001 Classic Scallop Edgeabilities

 The Classic Scallop Edgeabilities set features an Edger that cuts/embosses scallops at one inch wide scallops. The Decorative inserts are a lacey scallop and circles, both repeating at one inch intervals.

Classic Scallop Borders also matches the Scallop Die in Classic Edges One.
