We are so excited to have Alice Carman guest designing for us for the next three days. I can't wait for you to see all the gorgeous projects she has created using stamps from our October Release. I encourage you to also visit Alice's blog - Card's by Alice to see all the yummy projects that Alice has created.
Now here's Alice.....
Thank you for inviting me as the Guest Designer this week. I was so inspired by the stamps I received and here’s what I created for my first day. I used JustRite’s Oak Leaves Cling Stamp to create the background paper and to use as the main focus of this card. I stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto Kraft Paper.
Next I stamped my leave onto watercolor paper. Water coloring is the rage right now so I used a water brush and distress inks (Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, Barn Door, Gathered Twigs) to blend in colors for the leaves. I wanted the colored leaves to really pop on my card so I added a white stitched pocket to my background paper (which also gave me a perfect spot to stamp my sentiment). I distressed the edges of my pocket to make it blend it beautifully with my background.
I used a white pen to create faux stitching around the card to give it a country appeal and distress inks to age it a bit. You can always add some glitter to give it that extra glam, but I like the distress look for this card. I hope you enjoyed it.
