I liked to extend a Special Thank you to Alice Carman for joining us this week as our guest designer. It was so much fun Alice to see what you created with our October Release.
If you liked to continue to enjoy Alice's work you can find her at Cards by Alice.
Now here's Alice...
I like to repeat my stamps when I create to make my own back grounds. In this design I wanted to use the flower from the Mum Cling Stamp Set, but I didn’t want the stem so I covered the stem image on the stamp with a post it note and inked only the flower.
Because I stamped on white cardstock, I used a light blue (BG000- Copic Marker) to color in the open spaces between the flowers.
Then I only highlighted the flowers randomly by coloring shaded areas of the flower, leaving one flower untouched. On a separate piece of paper I stamped the flower again and colored. Next, I fussy cut the image and using foam dots I adhered it to the flower I didn’t color. I also used a white pen to go back to highlight areas of the flowers.
In this design I started off with Crackle Cling Background Stamp. This stamp reminds me of a vintage wood fence with white paint that has cracked over time so I stamped the image twice and created a few panels to look like planks on a picket fence.
To give the planks some depth I inked the edges and used foam dots to adhere.
