JustRite Friday Challenge #122 - Card & Envelope Sets

It's time for a new challenge here at JustRite Inspiration! I hope you have been following along with our Tutorial Tuesday series. Darsie has been showing some AMAZING card and envelope sets in the past two episodes so be sure to watch them (if you haven't already) and "Like" them on YouTube. Now, it's YOUR turn to create a card with matching embellished envelope using JustRite products.

I created a VERY simple set using stamps from Butterflies Mini Cling, Grand Thank You Sentiments Cling & Ribbons, Tapes & Lace Clear stamps with an everday pre-made envelope and card base but if you have an envelope tool please feel free to use it!! For more details, visit my blog HERE.

How to create envelopes for dimensional cards by Darsie Bruno

Thanks for all you comments on Darsie's We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board Tutorial!  We loved reading everyone of them.  It helps to get to know our readers better and it always excites us when we can show you how to use a tool for something new- like envelope liners!  Based on your comments we worked our tutorial schedule so that Darsie could show you this week how she decorates and embosses envelope with our stamps and how to make envelopes for cards that have lots of layers and are too thick for a normal envelope.

For Tutorial Tuesday, JustRite Papercraft Designer, Darsie Bruno, continues with her series on envelope making with We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. Today, she’ll be showing you how to make envelopes for your dimensional cards. 

 

 Last week, she showed how to make the basic envelope, and this week she creates envelopes that will accommodate all of your layered and embellished cards.  Darsie also teaches how to use JustRite or Spellbinders dies for embossing on your envelopes.

How to Manipulate your SVG files in your Cameo

Today JustRite Papercraft Designer Heidi Blankenship has an awesome tutorial showing you how to manipulate our SVG Files in the Silhouettestudio Designer Edition Software.  Heidi will  show you how to open files in the designer software, how to move the files, how to copy and place multiply SVG Files on your cutting area, how to ungroup files to use only a piece of an SVG file and how to resize an image. Plus Heidi will show you how to creatively use our butterfly stamp in our Butterflies Cling Stamps from our May Release to make multiply sizes of butterflies from one butterfly image.

Heidi was kind enough to provide both a YouTube Tutorial and a written tutorial for us today.  

 

This is the software that you have to have for your Silhouette Cameo -Silhouette Studio Designer Edition to open our SVG Files.

 

To Open SVG Files -Click on FILE tab (top left), click on MY LIBRARY in the drop down menu.

Next Choose SVG Cut file, click to open.

 

To Move SVG Files-Hover over images and a little hand icon will appear (unfortunatly the hand icon DOESN’T show up in the screen shot).  Drag and drop image to upper left corner or where ever you would like to place it.

To Ungroup SVG Files—this allows you to cut and paste images seperatly.  Use this if you want to cut (remove) one of the images, copy and paste (to make several of the same image), and to resize (make image larger or smaller).

 

Right click images and click UNGROUP in the drop down menu.

Boxes will appear around each image.

  

Click on image you would like to CUT and a dash line box will appear around image.

 

Right Click—a drop down menu will appear and it gives you the choice to CUT, COPY, PASTE, and several other choices. 

Click CUT to remove the image. You now have just the images you want to cut from this SVG File on your cutting area.

TIP:  -BEFORE moving forward if you happen to change your mind and want to add the image back or if you accidently cut the wrong image click EDIT (top left) and click UNDO CUT in the drop down menu—the image will come back.

To Copy Image (to have multiples of one images). Right click image, click COPY in the drop down menu.

Right Click, Click PASTE on the drop down menu and another image will appear.

 

Drag and drop image where you would like to place it.

TIP: You can also click on DUPLICATE in the drop down menu to paste more images.

 

To Resize a SVG Cut File Click on image and a bracket will appear around it.  Move the mouse to one of the corners in the bracket and a double arrow will apprear (sorry but the arrow DOESN’T show up in the screen shot).  Left click mouse and drag IN OR OUT to make the images smaller or larger.

If you want to add more of the same size image repeat the steps to COPY or DUPLICATE the image.  

To Add More Then One SVG File

Simply open each file and then follow the steps to MOVE the files.  You can several files to fit on one sheet of paper. 

To Pick Paper Size

If you don’t have 12 x 12 paper you can select other sizes by clicking on OPEN THE PAGE TOOLS WINDOW tab in the upper right corner and then select your paper size.

Darsie was kind enough to also write a written tutorial showing you how to create this fabulous wedding favor.


 

To create this wedding favor: 

Step 1: Cut a decorative panel, sized 5 1/2" x 12:, and score lengthwise at 2 3/4", turn and score at 2 3/4", 5 1/2", 8 1/4" and 11". 

 

 

Step 2: Fold and cut the vertical lines up to the horizontal line.

 

Step 3: Cut away the 1 inch lower portion to create the box tab. Add glue to the tab and secure to the other end of the box. 

 

 Step 4: Fold up the bottom and glue.

Step 5: To create a handle longer than the border dies, cut a panel 1 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches. Align Border #4 in the middle right portion of the panel and secure with tape. Cut/emboss.

 

Step 6: Align the outer notch on the die against the small edge of the cut border and secure with tape. Cut/emboss and you'll see how easy it is to extend the border! Cut both sides!

 Step 7: Repeat the same process for the other side of the panel to create the box handle.

 

Step 8: Add glue to the edge of one side of the handle and glue on the box, then adhere the other side.

 

Step 9: Cut 2 panels of ivory cardstock, sized 3 x 6 inches. Align Borders #4 and #6 to the edge, (the edge will be against the top edge of the panel as shown). Secure with tape and cut/emboss.

 

 Step 10: Cut/emboss the opposite side. Create two scalloped panels.

 

 Step 11:  Fold both scalloped panels in half.

 

Step 12: Adhere to your box and trim the ends that are hanging over.

 

Step 13: Cut/emboss 2 Spellbinders Decorative Labels Thirty Four- Die #2, one from ivory and one from rose cardstock. With ivory die cut remaining in template, stencil the exposed areas using Memento Rose Bud ink with a sponge dauber. Stamp your sentiment from Celebrations Labels One & Bracket Borders One Clear Stamps using Memento Tuxedo Black onto the ivory die cut. Adhere sentiment to rose colored label, then to box, add a bow, decorative pearls and a paper flower. Fill with treats!

Michele Kovack designed this beautiful card using our Bicycle Built for Two Cling Stamps with  Spellbinders Dies, Copics (for airbrushing). Michele created her flower using a Silhouette cut file.

Kristi Schurr designef this super sweet card using our Bicycle Built for Two Cling Stamps, Large Birthday Party Sentiments (balloon) paired with Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One Dies.

Darsie Bruno showcases just how stunning Amy's new Iron Swirls Cling Background Stamp Cling Background Stamp is Darsie used a sentiment from our Bicycle Built for Two Cling Stamps.

 

Eva Dobilas designed this stunning card our Bicycle Built for Two Cling Stamps, Fleur Twist Cling Background Stamp and our SVG Bicycle Built for Two Digital Download Cut File.   To create her fabulous background Eva embossed the Fleur Twist Cling Background Stamp in white and then used Ranger Distress Inks to color in the background. Then created a fun chalkboard element using a sentiment from Bicycle Built for Two paired with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Eight Dies.
