Tip: If you don't have a cutting machine you can still do the masking technique. Stamp your images on to copy paper and fussy cut them. Then follow the steps in the tutorial.
Heidi was nice enough to take step by step photos of her project for those of you who do not have a good enough internet connection to view her You Tube Video. To see how she masks each stamp I encourage you to watch her short video tutorial.
Here is a screen shot of the SVG files open in the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition.

The Silhouette Cameo cutting the SVG Files.

This is what the cuts look like before removing them from the mat.

Tip: If you are just stamping your images on our cut files. It is easier to stamp them before you remove the images from the cutting mat.
These are all of the cuts after removing them from the mat. For this tutorial Heidi used the exact cut files.

Tip: lay the cuts out and moved them around to see how you would like to create the masking layout.

Tip: Use a 2 -Way Glue Pen to add adhesive to the back of the cuts, When the glue is dry (just a few seconds) it will still remain tacky. This will hold the cuts in place.

When doing the masking technique several smaller stamp images are used to create a collage. Think of what image you want to be in the front and stamp that one first. Then cover the stamped image with the cut to mask it. (cover it up or hide) Next stamp the second image. Cover that image up. Keep repeating these steps until all of the images are stamped. So for the Masking Technique work from the front (first image) to the back (last image) of the collage. Stamp-Mask-Repeat
Now the fun part--removing the masks!

I used Spectrum Noir™ markers to color the images. I added Diamond Stickles to the bee and flowers. For the flower centers I used Glossy Accents and clear micro beads.

Using the SVG cut files for the Masking Technique is so quick and easy! No more fussy cutting all those image! I used Spectrum Noir™ markers to color the images. I added Diamond Stickles to the bee and flowers. For the flower centers I used Glossy Accents and clear micro beads.
