Day One with Guest Designer Judy Hayes

Hello Everyone!!!

I’m so excited and honored to be a Guest Designer for JustRite Stampers! I’ve been a big fan of their stamps for many years!

For my card today, I chose a verse from For All You Do Vintage Labels Three. What a beautiful saying!

To make this card, I started with the framed verse. I cut a piece of cream card stock with Spellbinders™ Marvelous Squares #3 (#1 being the smallest). I stamped French Rose Background Stamp in pink. It’s very subtle! Over that I stamped the verse. Next I cut/embossed the frame, again with Marvelous Squares #3 die template and with Adorning Squares #4 nested inside. With the paper still in the dies, I sponged gold ink into the space between the dies. I glued the frame over the verse square and added pink pearls.

The pink mat is cut 4 5/8 x 6 ½”. I stamped Ticking Stripe Background both horizontally and vertically to create a subtle plaid around all the edges, re-inking and repeating as needed. This is fastened to tan card stock cut 4 7/8 x 6 5/8”.

Next, I stamped the vellum with French Rose Background Stamp using Coffee ink. I colored the flowers on the back side with markers. The edges are torn along the stamped image. I fastened it over the pink card stock with vellum adhesive.

I tied a bow around the mats. (Actually, I never tie a bow around mats. Instead, I tie 2 pieces of ribbon in a bow. I wrap the other ribbon ends to the back of the mat and fasten with adhesive. It’s so much easier than trying to get a bow tied around cardstock!) The verse square is mounted with 3D Foam Squares over the ribbon.

I stamped the French Rose Background Stamp in pink over a scrap of pink card stock. I cut 2 tags from the scrap with Spellbinders Charmed I’m Sure tag die templates. I stamped “Cherish” and “Love” on the tags. The tags are tied to the bow with gold metallic floss.

Finally, it’s all fastened to the front of a 5 x 7” cream card.
