Alas, my last and third day as guest designer for JustRite Papercraft so I thought a THANK YOU card was needed for the occasion :) For this card, I used two stamp sets: CR-03905 Lace Medallion Labels and CL-04430 Floral Flourishes Background Stamp sets.

 The Card Base: I used Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock® David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking System 5½ x 5½" square white card with its smooth surface and one of my favorite shapes! About 1 ¼" from the edge, I stamped CL-04430 Floral Flourishes Background Stamp and then cut/embossed the edge with S5-181 A2 Bracket Borders One. Next I added the ribbon and centered the button with the pearl.

Layer One of card front: I stamped an image from CR-03905 Lace Medallion Labels and cut/embossed JB-10020 Nested Medallion Labels die #5 (the smallest size being #1) and adhered to the base with foam squares for dimension.

Layer Two: I cut/embossed JB-10020 Nested Medallion Labels die #3 with purple cardstock, centered onto Layer Two die cut and adhered with foam squares.

Layer Three: I cut/embossed over stamped sentiment with JB-03775 Antique Tags One die #1 and adhered with foam squares in the center on Layer Two die cut.

I'm back for Day 2 of my guest design post at JustRite® Papercraft! Today I promised a SPRING~Y card that I titled "I am Thankful" which I am for the wonderful opportunity :0) This card is all about Samantha Walker, the fabulous designer behind one of my favorite die template set, JB-S5166 Ornate Squares and matching stamp set, SW-04425 Ornate Happiness Squares!

 The Card Base: I used Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock® David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking System 5½ x 5½" square yellow card. It's perfect to frame my card! Layer One of card front: I cut/embossed Spellbinders™ Grand Nestabilities® LF-126 Grand Squares die #3 (the smallest size being #1) with patterned paper and adhered to the base.

Layer Two: I cut/embossed JB-S5166 Ornate Squares square die twice. I stamped the image on the lighter color die cut. Position lace the pink square as a square and the stamped square as a diamond shape onto the layer.

Layer Three: Cut/embossed JB-S5166 Ornate Squares tag die with green patterned paper and stamp the image - the frame first and then the sentiments. Adhere with foam squares and center on Layer Two die cuts for dimension. Place pearls as shown.

I am THRILLED to be guest blogging for one of my favorite stamp companies, JustRite® Papercraft, for three days. Since 2006, I have been a fan so I'm just a "little" EXCITED to say the least!! Today, I want to share this "Get Well Soon" card, using a combination of two stamp sets: CL-03845 With Gratitude Labels One and CR-03625 Classic Lace Edges One.

The Card Base: I embossed with Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities™ ES-005 Enchanted Folder. Love how it looks!

Layer One of card front: I stamped the border image from Classic Lace Edges One on cream cardstock, positioning the image to fit between gaps to create a background. Next I cut/embossed with Spellbinders Card Creator Matting Basics B die #7 (the smallest die being #1) and cut the bottom edge with JB-E8007 Classic Edges One Scalloped Edge.

Layer Two: I cut/embossed JustRite Custom Die Vintage Labels Four set die #5 with patterned paper and ink edges. Then adhere with foam squares for dimension.

Layer Three: I stamped an image from With Gratitude Labels One onto green patterned paper, position JustRite Custom Die Antique Labels One set die #6 over the image to cut/emboss. Adhere on top of Layer Two.

Last layer: I stamped an image and sentiment from With Gratitude Labels One onto cream cardstock, position JustRite Custom Die Antique Labels One set die #4 over the image to cut/emboss. Add thin pink satin ribbon to tie a bow and place the assembled card front onto the card base.

JustRite Friday Challenge #091 - Color Challenge

We've had a few sketches lately but now it's time for another color challenge. I have been thinking of doing something with these colors for a while but tend to end up choosing more vibrant colors in the end. I thought this would be a good challenge for ME as well?!

Day Three with Guest Designer Valerie Stangle

A special thanks to Valerie Stangle for guest designing this week.  Her projects have been amazing!  Be sure to check out Valerie's blog for more inspiration.

Here's Valerie:

Using Anchors Away by JustRite I created a nautical themed accordion book for your favorite dad (grandpa, uncle, brother).

The base of the book is 4” x 12” and scored at 4” and 8.”

Each panel is decorated with a piece of 4” x 4” patterned paper before adding the die cut and stamped images.

For the front of the accordion, I used the map stamp from Anchors Away  and coordinated die from Vintage Label and Banner Dies.  I die cut the label in teal and added accent coloring on the rope portion of the image with a tan colored pencil.  The anchor was stamped on a die cut sand circle with teal ink and distressed with sand ink and adhered to a burgundy die cut circle with dimensional foam.  Embellish with a piece of knotted cording, a tiny paper clip and a dad tag and adhere to map die cut layer. Adhere finished focal image to center of front panel with dimensional foam.

Using the map stamp and coordinated die with an inspirational sentiment from Anchors Away, I created the first inside panel in the same manner as the front panel.  The sentiment is stamped in teal ink onto a sand die cut circle and adhered to a burgundy die cut circle.  Adhere to teal stamped die cut with dimensional foam. A brad accented, stamped helm is adhered to the rope die cut layer with dimensional foam. Adhere finished focal image to left inside panel with dimensional foam.

The center of the accordion book was created using the rope frame and ship image from Anchors Away.  I die cut the largest label from Nested Medallion Labels Dies in teal cardstock and added accent coloring with a tan colored pencil.  The ship is stamped in teal ink onto a sand die cut circle, adhered to a burgundy die cut circle and embellished with a rope knot and clip.  Adhere completed ship to teal medallion die cut with dimensional foam.  Adhere finished focal image to center inside panel with dimensional foam.

The final page of the accordion book was created using the map stamp and coordinate die once more.   Accented with a birthday banner stamp from Anchors Away and coordinated die from Vintage Label and Banner Dies and anchored with love sentiment, it will be sure to bring a smile to your nautical guy’s face!

Day Two with Guest Designer Valerie Stangle

 Welcome back for another day of great projects by guest designer Valerie Stangle.  Valerie enjoys creating masculine cards/projects.  Today she has a great mini album using JustRite Premium Labels and Vintage Label & Banner dies.

Here's Valerie: 

For today’s project I used JustRite Premium Labels to create an album for a premium dad for a birthday, Father’s Day or special event. 

First, to form the album, cut patterned paper to size (4” x 12”, score at 6”) and corner round outside corners. Sand edges with a sanding block. Create a binding edge with sand cardstock (4” x 2-1/2”, score on the shorter side at 1-1/4”). Ink edges with sand ink and add a bit of piercing before adhering to the patterned paper cover. 

Using Vintage Label & Banner Dies, die cut a large Vintage Label in dark grey cardstock and set aside. 

 For the stamped, layered focal point, start with a small die cut Vintage Label in sand cardstock and stamp the “Authentique Friend” label stamp in rhubarb ink.  Add a bit of edge distressing with sand ink.  Adhere to the dark grey die cut label with dimensional foam. 

Because I wanted it to be an album for a special dad, I needed to alter the original sentiment.  I did this by stamping the “Guaranteed, Top Quality, Premium Dad” image with grey ink onto a die cut sand circle, ink edges with sand ink.  Mat on a grey petite scalloped die cut and adhere to the label with dimensional foam.  Adhere completed, stamped label to cover of album with dimensional foam.

For the inside pages, cut sand cardstock to 3-15/16^” x 11”, three total, and score at 5-1/2”. Corner round all corners. Add a 1” decorative strip of patterned paper to each page, front and back.  Attach a few die cut page tabs.  Bind pages into album with Baker’s Twine.  Add your favorite photos or journaling and present to your Premium dad!

Day One with Guest Designer Valerie Stangle

 Good morning.  Today we are happy to have Valerie Stangle as a special guest designer.  Valerie has created an adorable sweet treat gift box ensemble using a newly released stamp set called Live, Love, Laugh  Vintage Labels Two which also coordinates with the newly released JustRite custom Vintage Labels Two dies.

Here's Valerie: 

Today’s candy box project, using Live, Love, Laugh Vintage Labels Two by JustRite Papercraft, is the perfect tasty gift to give to a family member, friend or co-worker.  I loaded the box up with my favorite fun sized bar: Milky Way.  Finished at 3-1/2” x 5-1/2” it holds 6 wrapped fun sized bars perfectly. 

Using Vintage Label Two Dies, die cut the largest die in pink cardstock and the next smaller size in black cardstock. 

The chalkboard technique is very popular right now. Here are the 4 easy steps to create the chalkboard look I used it to create the focal image. 

1. Stamp the frame and greeting onto black cardstock with white pigment ink.
2. Quickly add white embossing powder, shake off excess and emboss.
3. Using only the greeting, shadow stamp using white pigment ink, no embossing required.
4. To create a more realistic chalkboard look, gently rub pigment ink around the stamped image and on the edges with a sponge or cloth. 

Adding silver brads around the edges of the frame adds a bit of shine.  I used the circles from the frame stamp as placement areas for the brads.

Using a 1/8” circle punch, punch 2 holes on the right side of the chalkboard panel, thread a length of gingham check ribbon through and tie into a bow. 

Adhere finished chalkboard image to pink die cut with dimensional foam. 

Wrap the candy bars in matching paper and decorate with the smallest label from Vintage Labels Two.  I coordinated them by using the same technique as the box top label, using words and flourishes from the set. 

To make the box and lid:

The box is made using heavyweight black cardstock, cut to 5-1/2” x 7-1/2” and scored 1” on all sides.  Cut to where the score lines intersect on opposing sides (2 cuts per side) to make flaps.  Pre-fold all the scores, add adhesive to the flaps, secure flaps to inside and create box form. 

The lid is made from patterned paper, cut to 5-9/16” x 7-9/16” and scored 1” on all sides.  Follow the same instructions to make the flaps.  In addition, notch 2 half circles, midway on the long side, on opposing sides to create finger notches to remove the lid easier.

Pre-fold all scores, add adhesive to the flaps and secure inside to create the lid. 

When finished, adhere the finished label to the box top with dimensional foam.

Live, Love, Laugh Vintage Labels Two is an inspiring set with many wonderful greetings.  I had fun making this box using just a few of them!

JustRite Friday Challenge #090 - Sketch

I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to join our challenges this year! I am enjoying all the creations you have made with JustRite Stamps (both old AND new) and can't wait to see what you submit this week! We have had great turnout lately and it makes the judging all the more difficult! For now, I hope you're ready for another sketch?!?

The sketch is used for inspiration and you don't have to use the exact shapes or colors in the image but it must resemble the overall feel of the sketch. The sky's the limit on the combinations of stamps and/or dies that would be perfect for this sketch!
