We are delighted to have the very talented Beate Johns as our guest designer this week! Beate was such a Sweetheart when I asked her over the Holidays to help us out with Catalog Samples and CHA Samples using our 2012 CHA Release. Opening each email from Beate was like Christmas!! I am very excited to final share with you some of her stunning creations.
For today's project Beate used our With Sympathy Set and Shabby Music Background to create this wonderful Prayers and Blessings Sympathy card. Now here is Beate with all the details on how she created her Sympathy Card.
For this card I started by creating the background. I knew I wanted to use the gorgeous roses of the new With Sympathy set (CR-03570). I stamped one on the top left, one on the bottom right of a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The image was colored with Copic Markers (1/5th YR31 (custom marker), R11, R12, R14, G20, G21, G24), masked and stamped with the new Shabby Music Background (CL-03560) in Antique Linen Distress ink. The layer was first sponged with Antique Linen, then with Vintage Photo Distress ink before it was stitched to a 1/4" bigger piece of Canyon Brown Cardstock.
May Arts Ivory Organdy Ribbon was tied around the layers, topped with a button, tied on with Linen thread before the layers were adhered to the card base, a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Kraft Cardstock piece, folded in half.
Next I stamped the frame of the set in Burned Noir Palette ink on Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed into a frame with the new JustRite exclusive Oval Medallion Label dies as well as a Classic Oval Nestabilities die. The frame was sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink. A sentiment was stamped into the smaller oval cut out in Burned Noir. The inside was sponged with Antique Linen and part of the rose was stamped over it in the same ink. The frame was adhered to the card with dimensional adhesive, while the sentiment panel was adhered inside the frame with regular adhesive. Pearls and part of Finesse Pearl Swirls finish off the card.
Thanks Beate for sharing your card with us today!!
