This week's JustRite Friday Challenge #054 is to use this square sketch with your JustRite stamps as inspiration for your project layout:
The rectangle focal element can be any one of our different shaped stamps, or how about challenging yourself to stamp one of our normally round, square or oval shapes onto a rectangle for a change!
Our prize sponsor this week is once again the fabulous Scor-Pal company! You can find some general basics about their fabulous scoring tools HERE and see all the products they carry HERE, including their wonderful Scor-Tape!
TWO Grand Prize challenge winners this week will each receive a Scor-Buddy (the larger Scor-Pal's newest smaller sidekick!) with zippered storage pouch and Mini Self-Healing Cutting Mat ($26.95 combined retail value)!
My Scor-Buddy is always handy, right next to my stamping space, to easily score and create my folded cardstock card bases, and more!
In addition, those two Grand Prize winners will also receive a JustRite $50 Gift Certificate, to use on ANYTHING in our webstore, for a total combined Grand Prize retail valued package each worth $76.95!
THREE Honorable Mention winners will each receive a $25 JustRite Gift Certificate to spend anyway they'd like in our webstore!
For my challenge sample today, I created this sweet seed packet envelope for the front of my 5-1/2" square card created with Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Square Nestabilities, using my Scor-Buddy:
I thought the seed packet envelope could be used to hold a gift card, or be filled with a few goodies -- maybe for teacher appreciation or maybe a Mother's Day card! I attached the envelope to the card front with foam tape at the bottom of the envelope, so the top flap of the envelope can still be opened and get at what's inside!
SNEAK PEEK:
I used our new Butterfly Garden 3-1/4" JustRite Original Ribbed stamp set (begins shipping May 11) with which we will kick off our May Release next Wednesday, May 4th, so we hope you'll check back then to see all the samples our design team will have of this beautiful set!
I stamped the butterfly center onto Neenah Natural White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copic markers. I die cut the image with a circle Nestability and popped it up on foam tape over a rectangle of yellow that I airbrushed with Y21 Copic marker onto the seed packet (I created the seed packet templates and they are available as a free download HERE).
The blue seed packet envelope (which measures approximately 3-1/4” x 4-1/8” closed) was created with my Scor-Buddy using these instructions I made (with pink cardstock):
SEED PACKET ENVELOPE INSTRUCTIONS:
Cut cardstock 5-1/2” x 7”
On 5-1/2” (long) side, score at 7/8” and 5” the full length
Turn 1/4 turn to the right, so 7/8” score is at top of score board
On 7” (wide) side, score at 3/4” and 4” the full length
Score at 1-1/4” and 3-1/2” only to first/top score line
Referring to diagram:
Cut away all four corners to first score lines
Trim second scored area (top tab) diagonally in half
Round bottom flap corners
Here’s what the back side of the envelope looks like folded up and secured with Scor-Tape:
Here's another example (albeit a rectangle card, instead of square), using today's sketch a little in reverse (full card details can be found HERE) and JustRite's Morning Glory from My Garden stamp set, along with JustRite Fonts used to create all the wording on a blank seed packet envelope. Even though the square sketch wasn't followed in this sample, I wanted you to see another way you can think outside the box, by placing a 3-1/4" round stamp onto another (rectangle) shape!
CHALLENGE RULES:
You will need to use JustRite stamps on your project and upload it to an online blog, gallery or photo hosting website. You may make and enter as many different projects as you'd like for our challenges. You will then need to link to your project back here on our blog post, using the linking system on this challenge post. Please make certain your link is directly to your project, not just your general blog home page or overall photo gallery, so we can find it easily. (Links that are spam, commercial in content, or are not linked properly/directly to your project will be deleted). If you choose to upload your project to www.Splitcoaststampers.com OR our Flickr gallery, please use the weekly challenge code (example:JRC_054 <== that's an underscore between the letters and numbers) in the keyword section of the Splitcoast project upload page or the tag section of the Flickr gallery.
You will have until Thursday, May 12 at 8:00am Central to make your project and enter a link to it below. Winners will be chosen and announced later that day (Thursday, May 12) here on the JustRite Inspiration Blog. Please allow up to 4 weeks for delivery of your prizes. By entering our challenges, you grant JustRite Stampers permission to use your artwork here on our blog as well as our company website gallery (with designer credit given and your blog post or gallery linked) or any possible advertising.
We can't wait to see all of your sketch challenge projects!
