This week we are delighted to share with you the beautiful artwork of Selma Stevenson! Here's a little more about Selma:
"I love to stamp, learn new techniques and share my creations with others. I have enjoyed blogging and making new friends and have had the honor to serve on several design teams. I am always on the lookout for new products and stamps so I can create and share these with others. I am married and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. My husband and I are retired."
Selma blogs at Selma's Stamping Corner -- please visit her there, to see more of her fabulous inspiration!
Selma will be sharing her artwork here on the JustRite Inspiration blog today through Wednesday . . . here's her first stunning creation, a snow globe using our Sparky and Friends cling stamp set!
Notes from Selma:
"This was such a fun project to do (although a little difficult to photograph)! When I saw these little snow people, I wanted to create a snow globe. It was very easy. The globe is a 2.5 inch clear ornament. A 2.5 inch piece of acetate was cut out with a Circle Nestabilities die. The design was stamped on the acetate with black Stazon ink. The images were colored on the back of the acetate using Sharpie permanent markers. When you color on acetate the design is very transparent. In order to get an opaque design, I painted the entire back with Bic Wite Out Quick Dry Correction Fluid. I was really pleased with how well the design now shows up! After the correction fluid was completely dry, I rolled the acetate up, using tweezers, and pushed it through the neck of the opening. You need to be sure you are putting the top of the design in first. Some fake Christmas snow was added in the globe to create the effect of real snow below the snow people. Snowflakes were added to the outside of the globe. I used a crystal votive candle holder for my base. It was placed in a small holly Christmas wreath. A plaid bow was added to complete it."
Wow, I never would have thought to use a clear holiday ornament to make a snow globe, Selma -- absolutely fabulous!! We hope you'll check back the rest of this week to see Selma's other wonderful projects!
We'll be back a little later today with our weekly Flickr winners!
