Today's JustRite Friday Challenge #035 is another Christmas challenge to help you get prepared for the holidays and the prizes are sponsored by Spellbinders! For this Christmas challenge, we'd like to see the Christmas/holiday tags you can make with your JustRite stamps. Spellbinders dies are the PERFECT tool for making tags -- most any of their die shapes work great to make a tag shape! (But they are not a requirement for this challenge).
As I'm sure you all know by now, you can always find a Spellbinders die shape or size that perfectly match your JustRite stamps, as most of our stamps have been designed to pair up with Spellbinders' unique nested shapes! As a reminder, we put together some charts that tell you exactly which dies will cut most of our stamp shapes -- the chart can be downloaded from the Die/Punch Compatability Chart page of our blog and/or accessed through the link under our blog header.
Now on to our challenge samples!
Today I used the ornament center from JustRite's Vintage Christmas stamp set, stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink onto ivory cardstock. Then I die cut the ornaments with Spellbinders largest Nested Pine Tree die (this is last year's limited edition set but Spellbinders has a fabulous new 2010 Holiday Trees die set that would work just as well!). While the cardstock was still in the die, I airbrushed the tree with Copic YG93 marker:
Next, I stamped the ornaments again with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a separate piece of ivory cardstock and colored them with the Copic markers listed below. The ornaments were cut out and popped up on foam tape on the die cut tree.
Next, I die cut red & ruby felt with Spellbinders smallest Nested Poinsettia die and stacked them together with a button to accent the "Season's Greetings" sentiment from JustRite's Christmas Nested Sentiments stamp set. The sentiment was cut with Spellbinders Double-Ended tag die and airbrushed with Copic YR21.
These JustRite design team members also have samples for you today. Please be sure to click over to their blogs for full details:
Kathy Jones made her beautiful Christmas tag with our Whimsical Christmas set and used Spellbinders Labels 13, Classic Circle Nestabilities Lg & Sm, and Blossom Two to die cut it ... so pretty!
Angela Barkhouse made this adorable wintery holiday tag using our Groovy Snowman, Something Sweet & Christmas Nested Sentiments stamp sets and die cut everything with Spellbinder Classic & Classic Scalloped Nestabilities & Tags 5 dies:
This week's grand prize winner will receive this set of Spellbinders dies (Poinsettia Frameabilities & Sm Deckled Mega Rectangle Nestabilities):
Three Honorable Mentions will each receive one of these die sets (Nested Apples, Big Scalloped Border Petites, Cross Collection):
CHALLENGE RULES:
You will need to use JustRite products for your project and upload it to an online blog, gallery or photo hosting website. You may make and enter as many different projects as you'd like for our challenges. (Please see our blog post HERE for important information about our gallery on Flickr, how to upload to it, and another opportunity to win some JustRite products!).
You will then need to link to your project back here on our blog post, using the linking system on this challenge post. Please make certain your link is directly to your project, not just your general blog home page or overall photo gallery, so we can find it easily. (Links that are spam, commercial in content, or are not linked properly/directly to your project will be deleted). If you choose to upload your project to www.Splitcoaststampers.com OR our Flickr gallery, please use the weekly challenge code (example: JRC_035 <== that's an underscore between the letters and numbers) in the keyword section of the Splitcoast project upload page or the tag section of the Flickr gallery.
You will have until next Thursday, September 16 at 9am Central to make your project and enter a link to it below. Then the winners will be chosen and announced a little later that day here on the JustRite Inspiration Blog. By entering our challenges, you grant JustRite Stampers permission to use your artwork here on our blog as well as our company website gallery (with designer credit given and your blog post or gallery linked) or any possible advertising.
We can't wait to see your Christmas/holiday tags!
P.S. Don't forget about your free U.S. shipping code CBHOP1 that expires tonight at midnight PST. You can find full details at the top of this post.
