Today we are introducing another great Christmas set. This set is so fun and whimsical, we just had to name it Whimsical Christmas!
I had a blast creating these cards for the JustRite catalog! It just so happens that the 3 1/4" borders make great mat layers for our 2" stamps and the snowflake centers from the Whimsical Christmas set are just perfect for adding snowflakes to your background paper.
For my penguin card, I used 3 stamp sets to create the card. I used the snowflake border from Groovy Snowman, white embossed on my turquoise paper and the "Winter Wonder" Sentiment from Nature Nested Sentiments to create my card title. For the card base for both of today's Whimsical Christmas cards, I used pre-made cards from DCWV Winter Box of Cards.
Wouldn't this card make a sweet invite for an ice skating party long after the Christmas holiday? It would be great for making cards for January & February (in Maine --for March and maybe April as well -- yes winter really last that long in Maine!!)
Here's a quick look at the sentiments and verse in our new Nature Nested Sentiments set (we'll be formally introducing this set the week of August 23rd but it's already shipping!):
For my second card from the Whimsical Christmas set, I used one of the 3 1/4" borders from the Christmas Ornament set and colored it with Copic markers to coordinate with the rest of my card design:
To acent the center design, I used a Y0000 Copic marker to transform the white area of the stamped image into an ivory background. Both these cards were so much fun to design and color!! Are you having a difficult time deciding which Christmas sets you need to buy? I think you just might need them all!! Scroll down below my project recipe to see what the rest of our talented design created with this set!

Now for even more enabling, here's more inspiration from some of the members of our design team:
Becca Feeken created this absolutely darling card using two of the new Spellbinders Loopy Nestabilities dies. Can't wait to get my hands on those dies! Just love how our stamps look when combined with these elegant dies. For more details, click through to her blog.
Sharon Harnist created this sweet snowflake tag using the Copic Alcohol Ink-Faux Bleach technique. You can read more about the technique by visiting Sharon's blog post.
Heidi Blankenship created this shimmery, swirling snowflake card -- you can find all the details over at Heidi's blog.
Angela Barkhouse used the sentiment from Whimsical Christmas as the center for her Spellbinders Nested Poinsetta, which is the focal point of her Christmas tags.
We have one more stamp set to debut tomorrow, so we hope you'll check back for that!
