"When I saw JustRite's Christmas Ornaments set, I sat down to make one of my first Christmas cards this year.  Now this was in July, so I still had plenty of time before the holiday crunch!  Still, I like to add to my Christmas card stash throughout the year. I chose to pull in some blues with the traditional Christmas red and green.  I just love the sentiment, 'Celebrate the joys of friendship and the warmth of the season'.  I popped my ornament on top of the border and finished off my card with some stitching and silk ribbon."

Notes from Stephanie:

"I remember being mesmerized as a child whenever I looked into a toy kaleidoscope (I still love looking into them!), so I chose one of the centers from JustRite's Kaleidoscope stamp set and heat embossed it to make it more defined. I knew that I wanted to use the sentiment, 'Prayers go up... Blessings come down', but I chose a softer color for it (rather than my typical black ink), cut out a frame and popped it over the center.  Normally, I like to frame my borders and centers using a Spellbinder's die, but with doilies so popular right now, I pulled one out and it made a perfect frame. To soften the entire layout, I added some light aqua embellishments. I didn't have any pearls or ribbon in the color that I wanted, so I colored a white pearl and white wrinkled ribbon with a Copic Sketch BG11 marker."

JustRite Friday Challenge 033: Sketch

Before we get started with today's JustRite Friday Challenge #033, we want you to know that we will begin resuming our weekly Flickr contest, beginning September 6th!  You can read all about the Flickr contest HERE.  So that will give you time to upload this week's Friday Challenge contest entries (or any other JustRite projects!) to our Flickr gallery, for an additional chance to win a free stamp set of your choice!

Now on to this week's Friday Challenge, which is to use this sketch for your project inspiration:

 

The flower represents any kind of embellishment you'd like to use.  Here's my sample wall hanging (measuring 6-inches square), using Witch Way to the Treats and our new Myriad Pro 50-point font:

 
  
I stamped the witch, Boo and ghost images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Inchie Arts Ivory Inchie Squares and then colored the squares with Copic markers G82, Y21, and BV11 to match Cosmo Cricket's new Matilda papers.

 

Then I created the "Happy Halloween" sentiment with Myriad Pro font and stamped it with white pigment ink onto the patterned papers.

Introducing Myriad Pro Font

Today we are introducing the latest addition to our family of font . . . Myriad Pro 50-point!

 

We have begun repackaging all of our fonts to contain uppercase AND lowercase of all one font size in each package, so you'll have a complete set from which to choose.  Fonts will be available separately in both 50-point and 95-point sizes.  You'll receive at least three of each sized letter (more of some vowels) in each font set size, to make creating your own custom sentiments, words, phrases & names a breeze!

With the release of our new Myriad Pro font, we will be retiring our Brayton Uppercase font, of which our quantities are limited.  So if Brayton has been on your wish list, now's the time to push it to the top of your list and get it before it's gone!

Introducing Nature Nested Sentiments & Verse

JustRite Friday Challenge 032: Color

This week in conjunction with our Friday Challenge, we have a big announcement to make ... JustRite now has a selection of 96 expertly-chosen Copic Sketch markers which may be purchased as singles, trios or quads!  The number one question people have about Copic markers is which colors will work together nicely to give a great shading of color.  Our design team has done all the work for you -- Our quad and trio sets are designed so that you can be assured they will work together to give you a perfect blending group!

You can find our Copic color selections from the Product page of our website HERE -- just click on the Copic Marker graphic in the middle of the page, or you'll also find Copic Markers listed on the left side of the page under "Categories" for easy navigation, no matter which product page you may be on.  Then just click on Copic Sets to see our selection of trio and quad groupings, or the Copic Singles graphic to purchase markers separately.  We know a lot of you are already avid Copic collectors, so we are also offering all of our colors as singles if you need to add to your collection that way.

So your JustRite Friday Challenge #032 today is to work with this fantastic fall color combination, which includes the corresponding Copic colors to help guide you.  (Copic markers are not a requirement of the challenge, the colors are only given for reference):

 

You may also add a neutral of ivory/cream and/or kraft, if desired.  You'll find the YG95 Pale Olive color in our Olive Trio, the E25 Caribe Cocoa in our Latte Trio, and the YR18 Sanguine in our Orange Trio.  Hopefully this challenge will help us all get into the mood of Fall since it's back-to-school time and September is just around the corner, even though the thermometer is still hitting triple digits here in the south where I'm located!

My sample uses Backyard Birds and Nature Nested Sentiments (both sets are currently shipping and we'll be formally debuting them here on the blog next week!):

 

I stamped the bird with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto an olive die cut piece of patterned journaling paper (Making Memories).  Then I colored the bird with JustRite's Copic Orange Trio (YR12 & YR16) and E21 from our Latte Trio, and Toner Gray Quad (T2 & T5), to resemble a Baltimore Oriole.  The nest and tree were colored with our Sandy Quad.  W1 & W00 (from our Warm Gray Quad) were used for shadows:

 

I sponged the outer edge of the die cut paper with Memento Desert Sand ink and adhered it to the 6-inch piece of orange and green patterned papers (Cosmo Cricket).  Some zig-zag stitching and ruffled ribbon complete this piece.  I haven't quite decided if this will be made into a greeting card or home decor piece (displayed on an easel, perhaps?) -- it measures 6-inches square!
