This week's Friday Challenge #017 is to create inexpensive gifts. We'd like to see how you use JustRite stamps to possibly easily mass-produce quick gifts for end-of-school-year teacher or kid gifts, tags for birthday/school party goody bags, candy or lip balm wrappers, gift containers, canned foods, etc.
A few ideas: Our Preserves set (on sale this month!) makes fabulous labels & tags for homemade goodies, as does our Homemade Treats set (also on sale)!
JustRite design team member, Angela Barkhouse, made THREE variations of these darling treat containers:
You'll want to click over to Angela's blog to see the other two versions and directions on how to make these!
EDITED: Design team member Barb Schram discovered inexpensive tealight holders from the dollar store make great paperweights:
Click on over to Barb's blog to see how she made a set of these!
My sample uses a recycled frappuccino bottle that I filled with gourmet jelly beans and decorated with a pretty tag, for a teacher appreciation gift!
I used our new Kaleidoscope set to stamp the background of the tag, inked with Ranger's new Spun Sugar Distress Ink, to coordinate with the pink in the ice cream parlor mix of jelly beans!
Then I overstamped the "Teacher Treats" center sentiment from our What's Cookin' set. The image was die cut and matted, using Spellbinders' Big Scalloped Circle Nestabilities ... definitely makes for a quick but pretty tag for a thoughtful gift! Another Kaleidoscope medallion covers the bottle lid and is accented with a chocolate pearl.
I included a coordinating card, also stamped with Kaleidoscope and a sentiment border from the What's Cookin' set:
You can see the full card and all of the details over on my blog, PaperFections.
CHALLENGE RULES:
You will need to use JustRite products for your project and upload it to an online blog, gallery or photo hosting website. (Please see our blog post HERE for important information about our Flickr gallery and how to upload to it).
You will then need to link to your project back here on this challenge blog post, using the linking system. Please make certain your link is directly to your project, not just your general blog home page or overall photo gallery, so we can find it easily. (Links that are spam, commercial in content, or are not linked properly/directly to your project will be deleted). If you choose to upload your project to www.Splitcoaststampers.com OR our Flickr gallery, please use the weekly challenge code (example: JRC_017 <== that's an underscore between the letters and numbers) in the keyword section of the Splitcoast project upload page or the Tag section of the Flickr gallery.
You will have until next Thursday, May 13th at 9am Central to make your project and enter a link to it below. Then the winner will be chosen and announced a little later that day here on the JustRite Inspiration Blog. By entering our challenges, you grant JustRite Stampers permission to use your artwork here on our blog as well as any possible advertising.
We can't wait to see your inexpensive gift ideas ... good luck!
