It's time for another JustRite Friday Challenge! For today's JustRite Friday Challenge JRC_004, we want to see your Crafty Calendars! Here's my sample -- a hinged calendar made with 4-inch coaster board:
What better stamp set for calendars, than JustRite's Calendar Set! It has all 12 months spelled out for you in a beautifully fresh cursive font, has 12 interchangeable oval borders and fits on our small oval stamper.
Here, I just used the February word and stamped it onto the calendar I created on the computer and printed (calendar file is available for download HERE). The calendar is sized to fit perfectly in Spellbinders' Labels One die #4, which is almost 3". I've placed it on a 4-inch coaster (or you could cut chipboard to size) that is covered in Martha Stewart's Valentine paper. If you don't have this calendar set, you could always use any of our font sets to spell out the month.
On the opposite side of my calendar I placed a photo of my sweethearts, die cut and framed with the same Labels One die. It is accented with a pretty floral heart from JustRite's Favorite Occasions set that I colored with Copic Spica glitter pens. The Favorite Occasions set is a great one to accent calendar projects -- it has 10 images that cover a good range of holidays!
Ribbon was adhered to the back of the left side of the calendar. Leaving a 1/4" between the two coasters, the ribbon goes over to the front of the right side of the calendar and acts as a hinge to hold the two pieces together so it stands up on its own! You could create the entire year all together in one book like this, or keep the months separate as I've done here. The whole year could also be made similarly on separate coasters, and then just bound all together with binder rings or a binding machine.
