JustRite Custom Christmas Cards - SCS Product Review & Mini Custom Christmas Card Hop!!

It is a very exciting day in Blog Land!! Remember last week I said we had a surprise for you? Well here it is we have 3 You Tube Video's to share with you today!! Today- I thought I would share with you Christmas Cards that anyone can make even if you have never made a card before! For my project I purchased inexpensive Christmas Cards (these were from the Christmas Tree Shop) and blank red cardstock cards from American Crafts. Next I used these three products(Have a Merry Little Christmas, 2" Stamper with 15 point Font and Holiday Demi Phrases) to custom design my JustRite Personalized Christmas Stamper.

First I loaded my Holiday Demi Phrase into the outer rim of my 2" Stamper. Next I added in my 1 5/8 designer center from the Have A Merry Christmas Stamp set.

Then I added in a designer border from the same set. (Note: it is not necessary to use a 1 5/8" designer border--if you omit it you will have adequate room to die cut the image for additional layering) Then I added my Custom Phrase to complete the demi phrase. ( OOPS-I got so excited once I loaded my custom sentiment that I forgot to take a picture of it before I inked it up the stamp). Next I stamped the image to see where I would need to adjust the custom writing and then using my tweezers - I simply shifted the letters slightly to adjust the spacing. After you have loaded your custom block I highly recommend stamping off lots of images before you unload your block. These extra images will allow you to make quick Christmas Gifts at a later date.

Or if you love the idea of having a custom block always at hand simply purchase an additional block and leave your custom block set-up permenantly. As you can see I had a ton of fun redesigning these pre made cards and adding a personal touch to them. I used a variety of combinations of Large & Small Classic Circle Nestabilities & Scallop Classic Nestabilites to make my JustRite Custom Embellishments.

I made every card a little different-the possibilites were endless...and I have even started changing out my Holiday Demi Phrases and my custom sentiment yet!! For this version I used three pieces of ribbon and simplified my card by just using circle diecuts and a little gold leafing with my Gold Krylon Pen.For this version I diecut the card with my oval nestabilites highlighting the tower of the Lighthouse. Then I die cut the red cardstock so that I could give my card an oval window. I used a second card to cut out pieces of the lighthouse so that I could create a paper toile effect. The bow, roof and walkway are all a second layer of the image.

For a slightly fancier card I made a bow with my wired velvet ribbon and then used the small velvet flower to accent the bow. Hope you enjoyed these easy peasy Personalized Christmas Cards !!And who knows maybe I may have just inspired you to design your own Personalized Christmas Cards.

More Great Back to School Projects

As you might have guessed from our daily absence---things are more than a little busy here at JustRite. We have tons of things going on for the month!! You are going to love all the inspiration. Angela still has a great calendar project to share with us this week, but I couldn't resisit showing you these other great Back to School Projects that you might have missed in our JustRite Google Shared Reader over the past few weeks. So I am interrupting Angela's guest blogging posts for the next two days. Tomorrow we have some very exciting things going on in the blogosphere to share with you, and then Angela will be back.

First this the Super Sweet Card Angela Barkhouse made for her daughter's first day of 4th grade. Angela designed her entire stamped image using Brayton Font & Times Roman Font and her Small Harmony Rectangular Stamper. Did you see Sharon Harnist's fun back to School Project - using an image from our Christmas Treasure set? I am not sure how many of you have heard or seen the Staples back to school commercial - which says "Celebrate the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" - Back to School!!

Well it just so happens that this is the sentiment in our Christmas Treasures Set. For all the details visit her blog - Paperfections.

The next project I wanted to give a shout out to is this fun project that Carolyn King designed by combining our stamps with the new Gina K Back to School stamps.

Day Two with Angela Barkhouse - School Bus Mini Album

Today Angela has a terrific project for you!! And if you have a Cricuit you will want to case this fun Mini Album!! Here's Angela:

Like many a mom--this week I got to do a little "Happy Dance" as my daughter went off to school this week. Emily really loves school and we love to scrapbook together so as a little extra treat I designed this fun school bus mini album for Emily to capture some of her 4th grade memories in. I love making mini themed albums- They are fast & fun to put together!!

To make my school bus album - I used my Cricut Expression along with the Doodlecharms cartridge to create my bus with windows & the students with my paper doll dress up cartridge. The bus is cut at 7 ½”.

The “stop sign” is made using Spellbinders Octogon Nestabilites and stamped using the JustRite Times Roman 25 point font set. I used my JustRite Brayton 50 pt font to recreate Emily's School Name on the front of the Bus. This is a fun project and you can decide exactly how many pages you need to create in your book- just keep cutting these fun buses. To create buses without windows use your shadow feature on your Cricuit.

Here is what the book looks like open!! It was so much fun making and adding fun little personalized embellishments to make each page unique. All of the page titles in my mini album were stamped using the JustRite Curlz 50 point Font set and my Horizontal Stamper. On the second page of the album I made this cute little backpack using the Cricuit Doodlecharms cartridge and personalized it with Emily's name using Times Roman ?? pt font. On each page I created mats for the photos so that finishing the mini album would be a cinch. On some pages I used SU photo corners as embellishments for the corners of my mats. I'm thinking this project would also be a sweet teacher's gift for Christmas as well!! And of course this book will be a hoot for Emily 20 years from now!!

For these pages I created friends & classmates using Paper Doll Dressup cartridge (the faces are made using Peachy Keen face stamps) The apple is from the Makin' the Grade Cartridge

and here is a close up of the Curlz Font Journaling for my next page.

This will be a fun page for Emily to put a picture from her class trip.

Here's a great place to use her class picture. The camera is from the Makin' the Grade Cartridge. I used the 15 pt Times Roman Font to journal on the page " Say Cheese" - one of Emily's favorite phrases for all those scrapbook photos - I am always taking.

For the next page I selected this fun little lockers from the same cartridge and used my JustRite Font to number the lockers.Yes, and as you can see I am a JustRite Font Junkie!! I love the versatilty of creating my own message anywhere I want and Emily thinks it is so neat that she has her name on projects.

For these pages in the bus the crayon and scissors are Quickutz dies. Here's a little tip - I attached photo mats as well as embellishments before I bound the book together. I think it is much easier (just in case you make an error, it is easier to make another page). Once all of the pages were to my likin’ I used my Zutter Binding System along with the 5/8” wire to bind my book together. Then I tied red, yellow & black ribbon onto my wire to dress it up a bit.

Day One with Angela Barkhouse- Autumn Scrapbooking

This week Angela Barkhouse will be our guest blogger. She has tons of fun projects that you will want to case-including Scrapbook Pages, Mini albums and a fun Calendar Project. This month we do not have a new release (a little birdie told us that you have a few more items on your wish list that you need to purchase before the next release). But don't fret because we have a jam packed month full of events planned for you including a Mega Font Blog Hop!! If you loved our Christmas Blog Hop...you won't want to miss our next blog hop. So....

The Blog Hop is so large that it will be a two day event!! We have 50 designers lined up to inspire you to pick up your JustRite Font and get busy customizing everything you make!! Or if you have taken the font plunge yet....you are going to want too!!

Today Angela breaks out her font and her Autumn Blessing Stamps to create this fun fall page!!

Every year my daughter Emily just can't wait to rake leaves. She grabs the rake and spends time making a pile of leaves, jumps in them, and then just "leaves" them there for me to pick up. Someday I need to teach her how to actually pick up the leaves and take them to the woods.

When I received the new Autumn Blessings Stamps, I knew right away that I was going to make a scrapbook page. When I saw all the images for this set I knew it would be the perfect set for lot's of my Fall scrapbook pages. I stamped my center & border onto Neenah White cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I stamped the center and border seperately so that I could popup the center image. I colored the image with my Copic markers and then diecut each with Spellbinders Classic Oval Nestabilities. These oval stamps and the oval nestabilities are the perfect match. The two scalloped mats are Spellbinders Scallop Oval Nestabilities. The trees on either side of my page were cut using my Cricut Expression and the "Stretch Your Imagination" cartridge. I really like the new options on the Cricut Expression whihch allowed me to choose the option "Fit To Page" which cuts the tree large enough for a scrapbook page without having to guess and cut multiples while trying to find the right size. In this case, the tree is cut at 11 1/2". For this page I decided to cut the tree in half so that I could frame each side of the page with a tree branches. This requires for one side of the tree to be flipped over before I embossed the tree trunks using the Cuttlebug Forest Branches embossing folder.

My colorful leaves are also cut using my Cricut Expression and the Doodlecharms cartridge. For my pile of leaves I cut several different sizes of leaves adjusting them as I filled my page with leaves. Next I decided to add extra journaling to my page by picking words tha remind me of Fall.

This is where JustRite stamps came in handy once again. I just loaded the word onto my horizontal wood stamper with the Times Roman 25 point font and stamped it onto the leaves. The interlocking grids ensure that my letters are always lined up perfectly. This makes journaling and personalizing my pages so easy.

The acorns were cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. They were applied to the page using popdots to lift them up above the leaves. Be sure to stop into tomorrow to see Angela's next project for Back to School! You are going to love it!!
