Day One with Lisa Somerville -Mongrammed Bracelet and Jewelry Box

Today Lisa has designed a monogrammed bracelet and matching jewelry box. This would be a perfect Chiristmas Gift.

While I was at CHA this summer, I stopped by the Amate Studios Booth to do a Make and Take, they have great jewelry pieces you can alter with stamped images or your Melting Pot. I was also lucky enough to receive a blank piece for altering at home, and the JustRite Monograms are perfect for these pieces. I stamped my Flourish image in pink on vanilla card stock, then used my Luxe Stamper to stamp my "K" monogram in brown ink. I placed a dot of Ranger Glossy accents in the bottom of the jewelry piece to hold my card stock in place, then poured in some UTEE that I melted in my Melting Pot. Then left it to dry.

If you're looking for these jewelry pieces to alter - Kitchen Sink Stamps is carrying them - Amate only sells wholesale. Now I just needed to create a matching box to complete my gift set.

I found my wooden box at my local Michael's store - it's neat - as the lid is a shadow box. To alter my box, I first painted it with Gesso, then let dry. Then I used my Radiant Rain Dauber in Pink Azalea to add color to my box. Once dry I stamped my Flourish images in brown, and edged my box with a sponge dauber and brown ink.

To create my monogram, I stamped my Flourish in pink on vanilla card stock, then used my Deluxe Inking Stamper to stamp my "K" in brown ink. I cut my piece to size, edged my card stock with a sponge dauber and brown ink, and placed it inside the shadow box lid. Now I've got a great gift - perfect for one of my nieces for Christmas! Where did you live? I live in the SW Suburbs of Chicago Tell us a little bit about your family. I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Jim - we'll be celebrating our 17th Anniversary in October. We have two wonderful boys - Jim 14 and Joe 13 and a 5 year old yellow Lab named Lou. How long you have been stamping? I've been stamping since 2002 Where do you do your stamping? When I first started out stamping I stamped in the kitchen and all my supplies fit in a small iris cart (Remember those days - I'm sure most of you started out that way too!). A few years ago my husband remodeled our mud room, and now I have a nice stamp studio with an L-shaped desk and cabinet space. What is your favorite must have stamping tool?My must have tools change on a daily basis - but ones I use daily are my Scor-It board, Paper Trimmer and Sponge Daubers. How long have you been blogging? I've been blogging for 1-1/2 years What is your favorite Paper Company? Currently my favorite Paper Company is The Paper Loft - I love the variety of papers they have, the really fit into my style of paper crafting. What products are you currently addicted to ? My addiction would have to be techniques and the one technique I seem to use over and over is the Marker Water Coloring Technique from The Technique Junkies Newsletter (http://www.patstamps.com/) What is your favorite paper crafting season ? My favorite crafting season is Christmas, I love to create gifts for others, and Christmas is the perfect time to give papercrafted items.

Witchin' You a Happy Halloween

Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble... Witchin' you a Happy Halloween!!

Need a fun teacher's gift for your child's Halloween party complete with treats for all the students. We have just the project. We found this great witch jar at Michael's. We filled it with this fun Orange, Yellow and Purple Candy Corn. (it is orange flavored - love the look but didn't love the flavor).

To make the fun sentiment we used the new Oval Stamper Ensemble II and designed the "Witchin' you a Happy Halloween"using Curlz 25 point font. Next we picked this fun whimsical border from the set and added movable eyes to every other circle. Spellbinder's Oval and Scalloped Nestabilities are a perfect match for diecuting this stamped image. The fun spiders are from K& Company. For the "Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble" treats Angela Barkhouse used her Cricut Accent Essentials Cartridge. She created the witches brew cauldron by using the bracket accent and folding it in half. She die cut the frog using her Cricut Paper Doll Cartridge. The verse was designed by using the 25 point Times Roman Font and was die cut using a Spellbinders Rectangular Die. The Hershey nuggets were wrapped with Halloween Paper scraps from Making Memories and Theresa Collins. The Skull and Bones were die cut using the Cricut paper doll cartridge as well.
