Welcome to Day 2 with Keri . The new larger images in the JustRite Collection are perfect for scrapbooking and today Keri is sharing a page from her scrapbook with us.

Today I thought it would be fun to bring a scrap layout to the blog! It seems I have about 5000 files on my hard drive that are just begging to be printed and scrapped but I only have a little bit of time to focus on that at this point in my life....However there are a few photos that I just totally fell in love with the moment I saw them and HAD TO SCRAP THEM! Here is one...For this page I felt that it did not require an actual "title" because the stamp did that for me! This quote was just right for what I wanted this picture to portray...if only we, as adults could remember how important the journey is sometimes.....

The image I used comes from the Harmony Classic Circle III Stamp Ensemble. I applied the ink one color at a time starting with the butterfly image, then the quote and lastly the border. I did it this was for two reasons, one I started with the inner images first for ease of application, but I also started with my LIGHTEST color of ink first so that I would not ruin my light colored ink pads if I accidentally touched areas I had inked using a darker color. Ahhh the joys of working with Fluid Chalk Cat's Eyes ink pads. :) Enjoy!

Happy Birthday 2U

It's Day One with Keri Lee Sereika. Keri has designed an amazing JustRite Birthday Card.

While this card has lots going on I knew I wanted this card to be extra special and really reflect the person I made it for...My girlfriend Sherry Wright just celebrated her birthday and I wanted her card to be as extra special as she is. So I first identified two things about Sherry...one, she is a class act....so I chose these beautiful papers by K&Company (Blue Awning Collection)...to me they are classy yet comfortable too! The other thing about Sherry is that she is a BEAUTIFUL PERSON. She puts her heart into her designs and femininity just oozes from her every project...so I thought why not go all out and do a super classy, feminine, soft, scrappy card for her bday... :)

Combining both the Small Letters Set, the 50pt and 25pt size letters from the Brayton Font Collection with the Harmony Classic Stamper Handle it was the "icing on the cake" so to speak. It allowed me to really personalize this card just for her. I was able to say what I wanted to say in a style that I hope Sherry really appreciates! :)

I really wanted my attention to details for this project to shine so I included the beautiful die cut butterfly from Spellbinders Butterflies 2 die set ..I inked the die first using Colorbox Pigment ink, then die cut and embossed the die. I then shook Opalescent Embossing Powder over top of the ink and heat set to emboss and add that shine... then I folded the wings and bent them over a stylus handle to give the butterfly dimension...

Lastly I mounted it to the card with three layers of simple bridal tulle under it to soften it and sort of ground the butterfly. And lastly I embossed the inside insert using the die so I could finish the inside of the card and make the project complete. I hope Sherry likes it as well as the rest of you reading the JustRite Blog today!

Welcome Guest Designer Keri Lee Sereika

Please welcome this weeks guest blogger Keri Lee Sereika. Many of you may be familiar with Keri's work as she is frequent contributor in Crafts n' Things, designer for Card Positioning Systems (CPS) and a former designer for Cornish Heritage Farms. Keri is a regular visitor at the JustRite blog, and we are thrilled that she will be sharing her creations with us all this week. Can't wait to Keri's designs visit her blog pink lemonade.

1. Tell us where you live. I live in beautiful sunny South Carolina with my husband of seven and a half years and our three kids.

2. Tell us about your family. My husband flies the C-17 Globemaster III for the USAF and I currently homeschool our oldest son who turned school age this year. My kids are all two years apart and are a blast to be mom to! While it is sometimes tough to feel like I have a good grip on reality and a handle on my sanity I wouldn't trade my life and lifestyle for anything!

3. Tell us how long you have been stamping. I began stamping about five years ago...never realizing what it would come to mean to me and how it would change my life and how I look at things!

4. Tell us where you do your stamping. I am really blessed. I have a 16x20 ft studio up above our two car garage that I just remodled last year and have tons of beautiful cabinets and EIGHTEEN FEET of counter top to use while I create. So I can now have MULTIPLE projects going at once and not run out of room...it is amazing...you can see pics on my blog if you would like to see the before and after pics!

5. Tell us what is your must have stamping tool. My Bypass Paper Trimmer by Fiskars...I like all my mats nice and even, and I love being able to trim just the tiniest bit to make it all just rite. Hahah no pun intended.

6. Tell us how long have you been blogging. I started my blog July 4th 2006. I was sitting at the computer and was waiting to go to a picnic and decided it was time to start a blog! So, no knowing what I was getting into and not knowing A THING about blogs I jumped in with both feet. I blog first for me, then for my readers and sometimes I just don't blog. My family comes first and so when things get crazy I just post that life is crazy and I will be back to blogging once life settles...and so far my readers are just awesome and understand that if a few days go by, not to worry, I will be back! :)

7. Tell us who is currently your favorite paper company. Ohhh that is a tough one....for cardstock I am a total Prism Princess. Love their vast array of colors and the texture is divine!!! As for patterned papers..well the pretty category goes to Anna Griffin, Webster's Pages and K& Company....I use their stuff alot and have had great success with both those companies many beautiful lines. For Cute and Fun well that category goes to...hmmm that is a tough one...I don't use it as much as I should but I love October Afternoon & Cloud Nine right now! LOL You will see alot of that in the near future on my blog! LOL

8. Tell us what are you currently addicted to . Well, I love ribbon and brads...always have...they scream class and ease to me...but I am right now finding I love hot fix crystals by Kandi Corp...they add just the right bit of sparkle to my projects with out making them look cheap....

9. Tell us your favorite paper crafting season and why. Oh man another toughy....I love to craft Christmas projects...and everyday gift projects....I like knowing that what I create is going to make someone else's day just a bit brighter...even if it is a simple card to say "hello, I am thinking of you" it makes me all warm and fuzzy to know my love of paper, ink and stamps makes someone else smile! Hodge Podge

This is our final day with Michele Kovack. We have enjoyed all her inspirational projects this week. And just wait til you see how many projects she is sharing with us today!! Thanks Michele for spending a week with JustRite!! If you love Michele's work please visit her blog Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbbooker. I call this my Hodge Podge post! The first project is a little purse cut from Provo Craft's Tags, Bags, & Boxes cartridge. The paper is by October Afternoon. I used redline tape to adhere all the sides together. I added vintage ribbon and a Melissa Frances glittered chipboard heart. On top of that I added 3 Doodlebug flowers . I used the Pink Sonnet Stamper Kit with the birthday designer center and one of the designer borders to stamp on a Shrinky Dink. I punched a hole in it and heat it up. I strung it on floss through the chipboard heart. Wouldn't this be cute to give a gift card in? or a small jewelry box?

The next project is a scrapbook page of my daughter's special friend, Patty. The paper is by October Afternoon, the transparency flowers are by Fancy Pants. I also added some vintage buttons and a large Making Memories felt flower.

I was on a bit of a Shrinky Dink kick and decided to add a center to the flower.Here I used another image from my New Pink Sonnet Stamper to create this fun center for my flower. Sometimes those little touches make a page special!

I have one more scrap page for you! It was a collection of pictures from the zoo with my son. I used some Flair paper and Jenni Bowling journaling tags. I used the Harmony Classic Oval Stamper II on a transparency.

I used Versamark ink and black embossing powder. I heat set it and added some Stickles for the dots for added interest. Love how it just adds a little something, something! Here are a couple of cards I created using the same snowman. He was created using a watch crystal, glue, a teeny Stampendous snowman, and chunky glitter. Instant Shaker Box! I made 2 of them and decided to try 2 different cards with them.

For the first Card I used one of the sentiments from the Harmony Oval Stamper II stamp set for the word, Believe. I wanted it to fit on the ribbon, so I cut it out using my Spellbinder's Nestibilities die. While the die was still in place I used my Copic Airbrush system to add a bit of blue to the sentiment. I cut the B out separately and glued it directly to the shaker for added dimension. The paper is SU!, Fancy Pants, and Melissa Frances. I layered everything including the ribbon, glittered heart, shaker, and sentiment. I added a teeny rhinestone to the i in Believe and threaded my own stick pin with my stash of beads. I also added some pink tulle for a dreamy effect.

The second card uses the same "Shaker Snowman." I made a round, scalloped, gatefold card using Cosmo Cricket and SU! paper. I punched a small heart out and filled it with glitter. I added a button threaded with floss. For the outside of the largest circle I used one of the designer borders from the Christmas Stamp Ensemble. I stamped it in Versamark and sprinkled blue embossing powder, then heat set it. The circles were cut using my Spellbinder's Nestibilities. I have so enjoyed my week as Guest Blogger! This has to be the most generous company I have ever had the pleasure of working with! Thank you so much JustRite!

Gifts from the Heart

It's day 4 with Michele Kovack and Michele has a great project to share with everyone !! Michele has taken a non traditonal approach to a traditional event!!

The first project is a card I created to give at a bridal shower. I know I could have done a "traditional" type bridal card....but that is sooooo boring!

The whole idea of a bridal shower is to stock their house or other living quarters, whatever they may be, right? So I decided on the house from the Provo Craft Doodlecharms cartridge. The paper is Cosmo Cricket. I stamped the sentiment directly on the ticket using the JustRite Small Pre inked Words from the "Love" set. I added some pretty felt flowers threaded with buttons and floss to dress it up a bit.

In addtion to the card, I wanted to be able to give my favorite recipes to my very good friend. Recipes that are special and have been handed down to me. When I saw this SU! tin, I thought it would be a perfect fit for recipe cards! To dress up the outside of the box I used SU! paper as well as some vintage book paper. (Told you I had an obsession with these papers!)

The sentiment was stamped with the round JustRite, "From the Kitchen of" set. The little bread image is by Crafty Secrets, as well as the Salt and Pepper shakers. I added a SU! ribbon and buttons threaded with twine. Inside the box contains recipe cards. The card was an SU! stamp. I used my Harmony Rectangular Stamp and the Curlz font (50 pt) for the Festive Fudge title. Now when I give those pots and pans at the shower, I will have a cute card and recipes she can cook up right away!

Michele Loves Halloween

It's day number 3 with Michele Kovack!! Today's projects will inspire you to dig out your Halloween paper and embellishments. Because you will want to start creating your Halloween Treats. Thanks Michele for all the Inspiration.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE HAlloween? I am not sure why it is my favorite holiday....but it is! So here are a couple of projects....

The first project is a vintage lunch tin. I used spray adhesive to apply the Designer paper directly to the tin. I believe the paper is Heidi Grace. I sanded the edges a bit. I then Cuttlebugged the vanilla cardstock with the spider web folder, then inked it a bit and distressed it. The main image is a Crafty Secret's image. I matted that image with pumpkin pie SU! paper, again distressing it. The sentiment was stamped using the Harmony Rectangular Stamper with 25 pt Brayton Font. I stamped it directly onto another Crafty Secret's image....the spider web. I happened to have a plastic spider in my stash and decided he would be perfect! I adhered 2 buttons tied with twine to the left corner. I then added the trim at the bottom and on the handle along with ribbon and a glass Halloween ornament.

The second project was created using a baby food jar. (Go Green baby!) So those of you that have little ones, start hording now! Attach the designer paper with redline tape around the jar. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the green "goo." Adhere that with red line tape also. Attach buttons using fabric glue or pop dots. The top of the jar was cut using various sizes of Spellbinder's Nestibilities. The witch's hat is a Lockhart image. I colored it in with my Copics and then cut it out. I topped it off with Crystal Effects. The sentiment was stamped in white, using the Small Letters Set in my Harmony Classic Circle I Wooden Stamper. Add some candy corn and you have little treats for a class, neighbors, party.......you get the idea!

NotePad for Ms. Urbon -Day 2 with Michele Kovack

Welcome to day two with Michele Kovack. Today Michele has another great project sure to inspire you to make gifts for the Holidays using products from JustRite Stampers.

This was a magnetic notepad holder and pen from the dollar store. I am kicking myself that I didn't take a "before" picture....because it was fairly ugly! I decided to make this a gift for my student teacher. I used October Afternoon paper to cover the board. I used a spray adhesive to adhere it. I like to sand the edges to make it somewhat distressed and also to blend it in a bit. I then covered the top of the pad of paper with the designer paper as well. For the ribbon, I did use Aleene's Fabric Glue.

I used a glittered leaf from Making Memories, a button threaded with twine and some vintage book paper for the star. The name was stamped using Brayton Font in the Harmony Rectangular stamper. I added 2 teeny rhinestones to the flowers around Ms. Urbon's name. I opened up the pen and inserted some designer paper in there to dress it up a bit. The "pen holder" originally had a grey piece of paper there. I re placed it with black ribbon. I just tacked it down a bit with the fabric glue. Now my student teacher will have a handy dandy notebook that can go on the side of her file cabinet. AND it is a lot cuter than Steve's! (You know, Blues Clues? Handy dandy notebook?......get it? ) Hope you enjoyed today's project!

Get Well by Michele Kovack

It is day one and as always Michele has out done herself by creating this great " Get Well Bucket" I thought it would be nice to make a little "Get Well" bucket for someone who is sick. The bucket was at the Dollar Spot at Target. (Love those Dollar Spots!) The paper is by Bazill. Since the bucket is narrower at the bottom than the top, I loosely wrapped the paper around the bucket and cut the excess off. I used Red Line tape to adhere it in place. I cut the flowers out using my Sizzix machine, distressed the edges with white ink and folded the petals. The center was stamped with the small round monogram stamp and the small letter set. I was trying hard to come up with a cute saying, instead of, "Get Well Soon, " which seemed boring......so I came up with, "A Spoonful of Sugar Makes the Medicine Go Down." Cute right? The spoon stamp is from Crafty Secrets and was stamped on a Shrinky Dink. I cut it out, heat it up, and while still warm, bent the handle for a nice "spoonie" curve! I added clear crystals to the spoon for some "sugar" using Crystal Effects. As a finishing touch, I added various ribbons to the handle to dress it up a bit. Add some cough drops, Kleenex, Chapstick, tea, and Vicks Vapo Rub, and voila! When you are inspired this week by Michele's great project's - please take the time to tell her by leaving a comment!! I live on the south side of Chicago, and have lived here my entire life!

Tell us a little bit about your family:

I am married to my high school sweetheart. We just celebrated our 15 wedding anniversary. ( I actually graduated from NIU the week before my wedding....talk about stress! ) I have two children. My daughter, Cortney is 13. My son, Kyle is 11.

How long have you been paper crafting?

I started scrapbooking soon after my daughter was born as a way of dealing with my emotions. (My daugther has cerebral palsy. ) It was a great way to escape. After collecting tons of stuff.....and I know you allllll know what I am talking about.....I decided to get into cardmaking. So now I divide my time between the two.

Where do you do your paper crafting?

My sweet husband transformed our spare bedroom into a studio for me. Every single night, even if it is just for a few minutes, I do something creative. Sometimes it is just to pull out papers, sometimes I just color an image.

How long have you been blogging? A year and a half ago my MIL started talking about blogs. I had absolutely no idea what blogs were! Not a clue! (Pretty sad that my 63 year old MIL knew more about it than me!) One morning I happened across someone's blog at the recommendation of my MIL and somehow ended up with my own! It has evolved since then. I have met a great number of talented and creative people, and have established some wonderful friendships out of it!

What is your favorite paper company? My favorite paper company right now is probably October Afternoon. It does change frequently though, and I can honestly say, I probably OWN every other manufacturer's paper too! I do tend to use lots of vintage paper as well.

What are you currently addicted to?

I LOVE using ribbon and buttons. A card just doesn't look finished without them!

What is your favorite paper crafting season and why? I love fall, and that Halloween is sort of the kick off to the holiday season! The kids are back at school, the air is cooler, and I love fall fashion waaay better than summer apparel. (Maybe it's the fact that more of me is covered! LOL) I love creating projects that center around this time of year. ( I will be sharing a few here! )

Blogger Software Issues are now resolved
