Patriotic Gift Ensemble

It's hard to believe that it's almost July 4th. Where does the time go when you are stamping up some fun. Michelle is starting out the week with a great personlized gift ensemble. We love how this idea can be created and personalized to match any theme! Enjoy and don't forget about our blog candy contest this week. Details are at the bottom of the post. Enjoy! My mom’s birthday is July 1st and she LOVES patriotic decorations. For her gift this year, I found a cute ceramic dish decorated like a flag and filled it with some wonderful hand scrub and lotions. My mom loves my cards and decorations so I knew that I wanted to wrap her gift extra cute! I can guarantee that dish will have these curly ribbons and decorations on them for years to come. She never unwraps anything that I give her. She just takes out the goodies, rewraps stuff and sits it on her table! LOL!! After I added a bunch of red, white and blue curling ribbon to the dish, I wanted to add a cute tag. So I reached for the JustRite Stampers Large Numbers Set and my teeny tiny letters from the Small Letter Set. I assembled the stamps onto a wooden mount to read *Happy 4th of July* and added some little * * * (stars) to fill in some white space. By using the wood mount, I was able to use a blue and red marker to get two colors on my stamped image. I finished the red, white and blue circle tag off with a red star eyelet and attached it to the dish with a piece of silver cord. A big red satin bow holds it all together. I then filled the dish with the hand spa goodies and added a bunch of shiny filler. While I had my monogram all assembled, I stamped some additional monograms to make some cards. I used the same red satin ribbon and some cute patriotic patterned paper to make some super simple cards. I tucked these into the back of the dish as well. I know my mom will love her gift this year. It’s so fun to create gift items that are tailor made for that special someone. And sometimes the packaging is what makes that gift even more special. Thanks for visiting! Important Announcements

Just some FYI for those that live in the Chicagoland area. We have a JustRite representative attending the Grand Opening of Craft Fancy in Arlington Heights this Sunday, June 29th from 1:00-3:00. Let's Spice It Up!

It's day five with Jen del Muro and we are sad to see her go. Well, she'll still be blogging over at Iheart}2stamp but we have really enjoyed her creativity this week. She has definately provided a variety of project that were all personalized to fit anyone's life too. Enjoy and thank you very much Jen....it's been a pleasure having you as our guest. Throughout the week I have touched on different projects that can be used in a variety of different ways. Today I want to bring the JustRite Large Monogram Stamper into the kitchen. A long while ago I picked up a set of these spice jars at IKEA. I cut out and embossed the circle with Nestabilities and then, I used the Small Letter Set to create the words and symbols surrounding the flower. . I think that a set of these would make an outstanding housen warming gift.

This project came together so easily and I am very pleased with the outcome. Of course, this idea is not limited to spices. You can put all sorts of goodies in these. I think ice cream toppings, nuts, or small candies would also make these great!

JustRite B-I-N-G-O

Here we are on day four and Jen's got family fun spelled out B-I-N-G-O. What a clever way to use the JustRite Stampers Number set. Enjoy! Today my focus is on family fun and getting the kiddos involved. Growing up, I craved going to my friend’s houses and having game nights. Bingo was always a favorite, so for this project I created my very own Bingo game board and personalized Bingo chips. To create this game board, I took a piece of white cardstock measuring 7.5” x 11”. I scalloped the top edges for decorative appeal. The squares measure 1.5” square and were measured out and marked with a ruler. I then took a straight edge and connected the dots. This could also be done on the computer, if one does not want to take on that task. I used the Large Number Set with the DIY Monogram Stamper Kit to stamp all the numbers. The center was then marked “FREE” with the Small Letter set. The game pieces were created with the Small Round Monogram Stamper Kit. I stamped out several letter “B”s and then punched them out with a 1.25” round punch. You can make these personal to a name or you can spell out B-I-N-G-O. A fun note about this project is that each family member can create their own board and pieces and when they are not in use, they store nicely in a shirt box. Bag Tag

What would the week be without a Jen del Muro Bag Tag? I remember the first time I saw a Bag Tag on Jen's blog. I think she used it as a diaper bag tag but I made my girls tags for their school backpacks. Enjoy this quick, fun and personalized gift. Again, I will reiterate that I wanted to create a variety of projects to show you this week. So far I have shown you a personal stationary set, and a wedding ensemble. Today my focus is on kids and travel and I am showing you a bag tag. This is a project that I first created over a year ago. Since then, I have used them as baby shower gifts, as well as attaching them to my own luggage and pool/beach bag.

This is a really easy project that you can make really fancy, yet it is easy enough to get the kids involved. They can make their own bag tags for their backpacks. The idea or theme that I had in mind for this particular tag was little princess. To create the monogram, I used two color ink pad in my Large Monogram Stamper. I chose Stampin’ Up’s Rose Red and Old Olive ink colors to coordinate with the Treehouse Memories paper. I mixed up the fonts in the monogram to give a little character and dress it up a little. To “kick it up a notch” you can add more ribbon. The reverse side is blank, so you can add your address or business card. To complete the project, simply add a binder clip and attach to your bag.

Wedding Ensemble

Today is day two with Jen del Muro and she has created an elegant Wedding Ensemble for us. I love the simplicity of this ensemble and the ability to change the theme to coordinate with whatever event you are planning. The other day I briefly wrote about my creative process and how I wanted to create items that pertained to different aspects of life. The first idea that came to mind after personal stationary was a wedding ensemble using the Large Monogram Stamper and Special Occasions Alphabet. When it comes to weddings, monograms are very popular right now. As seen on the JustRite blog a couple of weeks ago, you can monogram just about anything at a wedding, including vases, flower arrangements and candles. For my ensemble, I chose to create an invitation/note card, a place card and a favor box. To create this invitation/note card, I started out with a base that measured the standard 4.25”x5.5”. I then layered it with paper that I had stamped with scroll work stamps from Verve. The folding portion measures 10.5” x 2.75” and is scored at 3.5” and 7.5” I added the simple black monogram in the Special Occasions alphbet on top of a scalloped circle. Although I could have used the fancy Damask or Elegant borders which are perfect for weddings, I chose to stay with a clean crisp look to create a simple elegance. As you can see, I did not put any writing in the center of the card. That’s because I don’t want it to be seen as just an invitation. You can use it as a thank you note, or even take this design and add it to your personal stationary collection. The place card was very simple to make, yet I think it would be a wonderful touch to any wedding. I took a piece of paper that measured 4” square and folded it in half. I topped it with the same monogram from the invite/note card. Again, I think the bold black font adds such a simple elegance that could dress up a table in an instant. This was such an easy and fun favor to make. Again, the monogram stands front and center to incorporate the monogramming theme. The Swarovski crystals used on each of these pieces add an extra special touch. The base of the square of the main panel measures 2.75” square. The belly band that was created to wrap around the take out box is actually not just one strip of paper, but rather 2. The first strip measures 2” x 11” but, unfortunately, does not go all the way around. I scored this piece at 1.25”, 5 15/16” and 10 1/8”. Then I took another piece measuring 2” x 6” scored it at 3” and attached them together. They are attached under the main panel and on the bottom of the box, so that the band appears to be seamless . I love how these turned out and I think that a tower of these would look absolutely incredible at a wedding. Of course these ideas are limited to a wedding. Any of these could be used at a variety of events, such as a baby shower, birthday party, anniversary party or family reunion. Personal Stationary Set

For today, I stuck with my original idea of doing personal stationary. Yes, it’s obvious, but it’s also something that I would consider a luxury. I love going to stationary stores and just oogling at all their monogrammed stationary. Then, I do a slight cringe at paying $2.50 per small flat note, especially when I know that I could make just about all of their products myself. So I did! The picture above is the little ensemble that I created.!

I am one of those people that always needs something to write on. Whether it’s at my desk or when I am on the go, I always have to have my little journal with me. Why not make it a little fancier than just your average journal? This is a 4”x6” journal that I picked up at Wal-Mart for under a dollar. Along with the JustRite monogram stamp, I dressed it up with paper from American Crafts, Swarovski crystals and May Arts ribbon. In just a few minutes, and with about $4, I made a plain jane journal into an extra special journal. The basic layout for this next project came from a high end stationary store product. It is essentially like a desktop calendar on a smaller scale…and it’s stationary. The measurements for the base of this project are 5.5” x 6.75”, and the measurements for the actually pieces of stationary are 4.25” x 5.5”. The pieces of stationary paper are tucked into the corners which were created by cutting two 1 3/8” squares in half, and adhering just the edges of those triangles to the base. Like the journal, I used American Crafts paper, Swarovski crystals and May Arts ribbon to compliment the monogram stamp on the paper. As I noted yesterday, I brainstormed and created several different types of projects for the week. Tomorrow I will have another ensemble, but it won’t be anything close to personal stationary. **Jen del Muro Interview**

Hi, I’m Jen del Muro. Some of you may know me from SCS as genie1314, or from my stamping blog, i{heart}2stamp. I was first introduced to the JustRite line of products at CHA in February of this year. I was immediately intrigued by the fun and easy monogramming stamping products that they have. So, when Denise contacted me about working with and blogging about their products, it was really easy to leap at the opportunity.

Throughout the week, I will be showing you several projects. However, before I get started, I want to take just a minute to go over the creative process involved. I have seen several projects done with these monogramming stamps. Most of them are personal stationary, such as cards or notes, which is also what first came to mind for me. I knew that there was so much more that I could do with these products though. So, I sat down and brainstormed and came up with several ideas that will pertain to different aspects of life. Over the course of the next several days I will show you how I incorporated monogramming into a lot of things that I never thought I would. Denise warned me that it was addictive and now I am warning you too!

Where do you live? We currently reside in Saginaw, TX, which is a suburb of Fort Worth in North Texas. Family? Tony and I have been married for 5 years this year. We have a beautiful and strong minded 2 year old daughter, Ellie. We also share our home with 2 dogs and a cat. How long have you been stamping? Although I dabbled in stamping many moons ago, I have been "seriously" stamping for about 5 years. What does your stamping room look like and will you show us a pic? I stamp in a spare room of our house. Tony would love to make it a media room, but he'll have to fight me for that right! LOL! This is what once started out as a plastic 3-drawer chest.

How long have you been blogging and what do you like most about blogging? I have been blogging for about a year and a half. I like that there is such a wonderful community of stampers and bloggers out there and it is great to be a part of that community. It's a fun way to display my work and mix in some family pics, too. When you aren't stamping or blogging what do you like to do for fun? I love just hanging out with my family. We enjoy the pool during the summer and indoor games during the cooler months.

You're So Sweet

As Dawn showed you last week, the Small Letter Set is perfect for creating your personalized sentiments. The other day I made cupcakes for my neighbors as a thank you for all their help. I also included a matching card that I created to match the cupcake which was also a play on words too....You're So Sweet. Here is a close up of the cupcake with the decorative pick inserted. These awesome silicone flower shaped cupcake holders were released at winter CHA by Wilton and I found mine at Michael's. They come in a mixed package of pink and yellow cups.

For the sentiment I loaded up my Small Monogram Stamper with the Small Letters using the tweezer that are included. After I loaded up the stamper I used my ink pad that I filled with SU Chocolate Chip Classic ink. I stamped enough images for my cupcakes and matching card. I used my Nestabilities circles and scallops to cut and mat the cupcake pick. The center flower was made with the Marvy green flower punch, SU circle punch and a copper brad.

For the card sentiment I punched it with a SU circle punch and attached it to a copper tag. I used a green Marvy flower punch and attached it to the center of the sentiment with a copper brad. The cardstock is Kraft paper, the pattern paper is from American Crafts and the wide satin celery ribbon is from Michael's.
